We had an academic match that year for our 14 teams that included weekly college academic accountability studies done by their teachers. Two difficult working teams won the contest and they had enough time of the lives keeping on the beach in Destin, Florida. An area "Angel" footed the bill of approximately $26,000 for 2 buses, lodging and food. Since we had no way to practice following Sunshine savings time, the Snapper Bowl persons (Harold Creel) arranged for all of us to perform a casino game in the very first week of December outside the situation of the bottom tournament.
